Covered vehicles are equipped with an airbag system containing Pressure (P) sensors and/or acceleration sensors (also known as G sensors) which detect impact to the vehicle. Due to two different manufacturing issues, the insulation IC chips in affected sensors may peel over time, creating an open circuit. If this were to occur, the airbag warning light will illuminate resulting the affected airbags to become deactivated which could increase the risk of injury to the occupants in the event of a crash.
Customers will be notified by Toyota Motor Philippines Team through Official Notification Letter and will be invited by authorized Toyota Dealerships to inspect and/or replace the Airbag Sensor with a new one at NO COST. Customers may also check if the TOYOTA vehicle is included in any active Service Campaign at https://online.toyota.com.ph/service-campaign.
Customers with vehicles included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with any authorized Toyota dealer to perform the necessary vehicle repairs to prevent problems from occurring.
