The driver’s airbag module contains electrical connections housed in a spiral cable assembly, which includes a Flexible Flat Cable (FFC). During steering wheel turning, the FFC could be damaged due to the shape and location of the FFC’s retainer, which has a small contact point with the retainer. If connectivity is lost on the FFC, the airbag warning light will illuminate. This could deactivate the driver’s airbag and may not deploy in the event of a vehicle collision, increasing the risk of injury to the driver.

Customers will be notified by Toyota Motor Philippines Team through Official Notification Letter and will be invited by authorized Toyota Dealerships to inspect and/or replace the Spiral Cable with a new one at NO COST. Customers may also check if the TOYOTA vehicle is included in any active Service Campaign at

Customers with vehicles included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with any authorized Toyota dealer to perform the necessary vehicle repairs to prevent problems from occurring.
